Tetiana, Bohdan win poster award at NDSU Soybean Symposium 

Tetiana and Bohdan attend NDSU Soybean Symposium on March, 27 to present posters on their current projects related to soybean research (including two-minute oral “pitch” presentation) and won 2nd and 3rd place awards, respectively. Tetiana’s poster’s title is “Soy Protein-Based Bioplastic Films: Experimental Study and Computational Analysis”. Bohdan presented poster on “Pressure-Sensitive Adhesives with High-Oleic Soybean Oil-based Monomer“.

Bohdan, Kateryna and Tetiana present at ACS Spring 2024

Bohdan, Kateryna and Tetiana present their research during 266th ACS National Meeting and Exposition Spring 2024 meeting in New Orleans, LA held on March, 17-21.

Bohdan’s presented in-person oral presentation entitled “Multisubstrate adhesion performance of pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesives with plant oil-based monomers” at symposium on Biological and Biologically Inspired Adhesion: Enhanced Bonding at the Interface Between Life and Materials Science (Polymer Materials and Science Engineering Division).

Tetiana gave virtual oral presentation on “Cellulose Microfibers Hydrophobization by Grafted Plant oil-based Polymers” at symposium on Synthesis, Processing, and Fabrication of Polymeric Materials (Polymer Materials and Science Engineering Division).

Kateryna presented virtual poster on “Investigating plastic pollution: A model system approach to assess the size-dependence for interaction of polystyrene particles with model human biological systems” at General Topics: New Synthesis and Characterization of Polymers (Division of Polymer Chemistry)

Tetiana and Kateryna serve as a judge at 2024 SE Regional Science & Engineering Fair (SERSEF)

Tetiana and Kateryna assist in judging the Southeast Regional Science & Engineering Fair (SERSEF) 2024, held on March 11th at the Fargodome in Fargo, ND. This event showcases original science and engineering research by North Dakota middle and high students in grades 6-8 and 9-12, who compete for scholarships, prizes, and the chance to advance to further competitions. Kateryna judges in the Junior division, while Tetiana helps in the Senior division.

Participating in this event is an exciting opportunity to be part of the scientific community in ND and witness the impact that these young scientists’ projects can have on society.

Bohdan gives oral presentation at America Chemical Society local section conference

Bohdan attends 2024 Red River Valley local section of America Chemical Society conference to be held on campus of Bemidji State University, Bemidji, MN on February, 2-3. His presentation is entitled Pressure-Sensitive Polymer Adhesives based on Plant Oil-derived Acrylic Monomers.

Bohdan presentation won a nomination for the Outstanding Presentation Award for the 2024 RRV-ACS Research Event and got a travel award for the upcoming ACS Spring in New Orland. Congratulations!

Tetiana and Kateryna serve as judges at ND Eastern Dakota First Tech Challenge (FTC) Qualifier

Tetiana and Kateryna serve as judges at the ND Eastern Dakota First Tech Challenge (FTC) Qualifier 2024 hosted by FIRST, hold on January 20th on campus of North Dakota State University, Fargo, ND. Students from North Dakota, South Dakota, and Minnesota in grades 6th to 12th showcase their original engineering research in robotic construction.

Participating in this event is a thrilling opportunity to be actively involved and gain firsthand experience in judging young engineers in STEM. It provides a unique perspective on the potential impact their projects can have on society.
